AUGUST MAKEUP HAUL

I haven't really been out shopping this month, but when I did, I managed to pick up these goodies that I am dying to try out (well, some of these products have already been tried out because I couldn't resist)!

Firstly, I must say I know I promised not to buy any more eye shadows... but I just couldn't resist! These were on sale in Sportsgirl, and were marked down to almost half price! A bargain if I do say so myself. For those of you who don't know, Sportsgirl is an Australian fashion and beauty store that stocks affordable fashion pieces and gorgeous makeup  products which I can never resist buying. The palettesI picked up are called Silver linings, featuring mainly black and silver shades, and Wild at Heart, which includes olive and champagne toned shades. Silver Linings also features a pink shimmer, which I don't think I'll be using anytime soon, but who knows?

Also, I bought the Real Techniques Multi-task brush, because I already use their blending brush (for eye shadow) which I am head-over-heels for, and decided I needed another to add to my collection. I just couldn't resist...

Now, about the lip pencil/crayon, I actually saw my mum with this product, tried it, loved it, and went out to buy one for myself! Great marketing, mum! haha. I've used it a few times already, and I especially like pairing it with a lip gloss of the same colour to give it a glossy finish because I prefer that to just a pain shimmery matte finish.

So, that's the end of my little haul - hope you liked it! And I must say - wow, it's nearly the end of August! This year is going so fast - nearly Halloween, then Christmas and then the new year! I'll be year 11 next year which is pretty stressful but I am so excited none the less. What year are you guys in at school/what year are you going into next year?

EVERYDAY WINTER MAKEUP LOOK

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you have to get the makeup look that have been wearing constantly these winter holidays. Featuring shimmery eyes, this look is definitely one of my faves! I will list all the products that I have used at the end.

To start I make sure I have clean skin, and then I apply the Nude by Nature Mineral Primer. Make sure you don't use too much primer otherwise it's staying powder will wear off faster. "Less is more". I'm putting this on with my fingers in circle motions so to not stretch my skin too much.

Then I use my favourite bb-cream - Maybelline's Pure Dream BB-Cream. As you can see the bottle looks quite worn out - this product is very loved! It's almost run out so I need to pop into the shops to get some more as soon as possible. The brush I am using is Real Technique's faoundation brush. This bush is amazing and works really well with Maybelline's BB-Cream. That reminds me - I probably should get around to washing my makeup brushes!

Then, using my favourite concealer, I'm covering up my dark circles and any blemishes I may have. I must say that the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer isn't too good at covering pimples so I wouldn't recommend it for that, but is amazing at brightening under the eyes. To apply I pat on the concealer with my middle and ring fingers.

And here are some flowers that were in a pot nearby, my sister got distracted while taking these pictures of me and decided to take pictures of plants. Although I must admit that she is a very good photographer!

To lock all my makeup in I'm using the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, and applying it with Nude by Nature's powder brush. this is a very good brush and product combination - it works fabulously for me each time, yay!

Now, using Nude by Nature's bronzer and a powder brush from an unknown brand, I'm contouring my cheekbones & jawline, and bronzing up my face.

Now time for eye shadow! Using my fingers I'm applying Maybelline's MYN eye shadows to my lid. I start with the lighter shade and put that on my waterline and in the inner corner of my eyes, and with the darker shade I cover my whole lid (but don't go further than the crease).

I so love this Real Techniques eye shadow domed brush! It's amazing for blending the darker colour in the crease with the lighter shades. So the crease colour I'm using today is the dark brown on the bottom row of this palette. I think it's called Sun Club, and is by Essence. This palette, apart from the blue shades, is so amazing and I can create so many eye shadow looks with it.

Now for mascara! First I'm curling my lashes with an eyelash curler from Sportsgirl, and then the mascara is Rimmel's Rockin' Curves. This mascara is amazing and is definitely my favourite at the moment - although my mascara favourites are always changing! This mascara is true to it's name - the curves are absolutely amazing.

The finishing touch - filling in the eyebrows. I love this step as I just feel so put together after my eyebrows are done. I'm using the Rimmel Professional brow pencil to brush and fill in my brows.

And the look is done! Here is what my eyes look like:

Yay, I'm finished!

Products used:
Nude by Nature Mineral Primer
Maybelline Pure Dream BB Cream in medium
Real Techniques foundation brush
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in ivory
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in translucent
Nude by Nature powder brush

Unknown brand brush
Maybelline MYN eye shadows
Essence Sun Club eye shadow palette - the dark brown shade

So as you can see, I own a lots of products from Rimmel and Maybelline - I promise that's not on purpose! I just seem to gravitate towards them more when shopping. I really should branch out more. Which other brands do you guys suggest I should look into? I definitely wouldn't mind an excuse to go shopping this weekend.

TOP FIVE AFFORDABLE MAKEUP PRODUCTS

There's something I have to confess... I own A LOT of drugstore makeup.  And I'm not ashamed, although my purse might be as I'm always spending! I just love makeup so much - all the colours and brands and designs and the packaging and the product itself and I could just go on and on and on. And after collecting makeup for at least 2 years now, I have come across some (affordable!) gems which I just have to share with you.

The first product is the Model and Co. Lip Laquer in the colour Creme Brulee. It's actually the perfect combination of nude and pink and has such great staying power that I've worn this non-stop since I bought it. I should probably give my other lip prods some love so they don't feel left out.

Next is Maybelline's Volum Express The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara (what a long name!). I swear this is the best mascara to ever grace the planet. It doesn't clump, smudge, or look cakey, instead it opens my eyes SO MUCH and makes my eyes look amazing. I love it!

I think my most used product out of all of these must be Rimmel's Professional Eyebrow Pencil. I have used it almost every single day since I purchased it, and I wouldn't want to live a day without it. What I love most about this is that I can choose how much I fill in my brows depending on my mood, the occasion, and the rest of my makeup. It's so buildable and results in such a nice finish.

I have been wearing Rimmel's 60 seconds nail polish in the shade Princess Pink non-stop this month. It is seriously the perfect natural colour - mostly nude but with the slightest hint of pink so that it is practically the same colour as my nails, but darker. The finish is so glossy and smooth, and I can even wear it to school without the teachers noticing and getting me in trouble for wearing nail polish.

Lastly I want to include my Mineral Primer from Nude by Nature, which for some reason isn't available anymore. This was the best I could find - I think it's the same product but with a different name and design. If I wear a BB-cream or foundation, this primer HAS to go under it. Without it everything slides off my oily face within 2 hours. Such a lifesaver.

Now, there's something I have to tell you all. As I am such a procrastinator and as a result don't post blog posts as much as I really should, I decided that this month I'm going to challenge myself to 2 or 3 good quality posts per week. Mondays will be "Makeup Monday", Fridays will be "Fashion Friday", and I might post a lifestyle post another time during the week  if I feel like it. Hopefully you're excited (I definitely am!) and have a fabulous rest of the week :)
