EVERYDAY WINTER MAKEUP LOOK

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you have to get the makeup look that have been wearing constantly these winter holidays. Featuring shimmery eyes, this look is definitely one of my faves! I will list all the products that I have used at the end.

To start I make sure I have clean skin, and then I apply the Nude by Nature Mineral Primer. Make sure you don't use too much primer otherwise it's staying powder will wear off faster. "Less is more". I'm putting this on with my fingers in circle motions so to not stretch my skin too much.

Then I use my favourite bb-cream - Maybelline's Pure Dream BB-Cream. As you can see the bottle looks quite worn out - this product is very loved! It's almost run out so I need to pop into the shops to get some more as soon as possible. The brush I am using is Real Technique's faoundation brush. This bush is amazing and works really well with Maybelline's BB-Cream. That reminds me - I probably should get around to washing my makeup brushes!

Then, using my favourite concealer, I'm covering up my dark circles and any blemishes I may have. I must say that the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer isn't too good at covering pimples so I wouldn't recommend it for that, but is amazing at brightening under the eyes. To apply I pat on the concealer with my middle and ring fingers.

And here are some flowers that were in a pot nearby, my sister got distracted while taking these pictures of me and decided to take pictures of plants. Although I must admit that she is a very good photographer!

To lock all my makeup in I'm using the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, and applying it with Nude by Nature's powder brush. this is a very good brush and product combination - it works fabulously for me each time, yay!

Now, using Nude by Nature's bronzer and a powder brush from an unknown brand, I'm contouring my cheekbones & jawline, and bronzing up my face.

Now time for eye shadow! Using my fingers I'm applying Maybelline's MYN eye shadows to my lid. I start with the lighter shade and put that on my waterline and in the inner corner of my eyes, and with the darker shade I cover my whole lid (but don't go further than the crease).

I so love this Real Techniques eye shadow domed brush! It's amazing for blending the darker colour in the crease with the lighter shades. So the crease colour I'm using today is the dark brown on the bottom row of this palette. I think it's called Sun Club, and is by Essence. This palette, apart from the blue shades, is so amazing and I can create so many eye shadow looks with it.

Now for mascara! First I'm curling my lashes with an eyelash curler from Sportsgirl, and then the mascara is Rimmel's Rockin' Curves. This mascara is amazing and is definitely my favourite at the moment - although my mascara favourites are always changing! This mascara is true to it's name - the curves are absolutely amazing.

The finishing touch - filling in the eyebrows. I love this step as I just feel so put together after my eyebrows are done. I'm using the Rimmel Professional brow pencil to brush and fill in my brows.

And the look is done! Here is what my eyes look like:

Yay, I'm finished!

Products used:
Nude by Nature Mineral Primer
Maybelline Pure Dream BB Cream in medium
Real Techniques foundation brush
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in ivory
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in translucent
Nude by Nature powder brush
Nude by Nature bronzer
Unknown brand brush
Maybelline MYN eye shadows
Essence Sun Club eye shadow palette - the dark brown shade
Real Techniques domed eye shadow brush
Sportsgirl eyelash curler
Rimmel Rockin' Curves mascara
Rimmel Professional eyebrow pencil in brown/black

So as you can see, I own a lots of products from Rimmel and Maybelline - I promise that's not on purpose! I just seem to gravitate towards them more when shopping. I really should branch out more. Which other brands do you guys suggest I should look into? I definitely wouldn't mind an excuse to go shopping this weekend.

TOP FIVE AFFORDABLE MAKEUP PRODUCTS

There's something I have to confess... I own A LOT of drugstore makeup.  And I'm not ashamed, although my purse might be as I'm always spending! I just love makeup so much - all the colours and brands and designs and the packaging and the product itself and I could just go on and on and on. And after collecting makeup for at least 2 years now, I have come across some (affordable!) gems which I just have to share with you.

The first product is the Model and Co. Lip Laquer in the colour Creme Brulee. It's actually the perfect combination of nude and pink and has such great staying power that I've worn this non-stop since I bought it. I should probably give my other lip prods some love so they don't feel left out.

Next is Maybelline's Volum Express The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara (what a long name!). I swear this is the best mascara to ever grace the planet. It doesn't clump, smudge, or look cakey, instead it opens my eyes SO MUCH and makes my eyes look amazing. I love it!

I think my most used product out of all of these must be Rimmel's Professional Eyebrow Pencil. I have used it almost every single day since I purchased it, and I wouldn't want to live a day without it. What I love most about this is that I can choose how much I fill in my brows depending on my mood, the occasion, and the rest of my makeup. It's so buildable and results in such a nice finish.

I have been wearing Rimmel's 60 seconds nail polish in the shade Princess Pink non-stop this month. It is seriously the perfect natural colour - mostly nude but with the slightest hint of pink so that it is practically the same colour as my nails, but darker. The finish is so glossy and smooth, and I can even wear it to school without the teachers noticing and getting me in trouble for wearing nail polish.

Lastly I want to include my Mineral Primer from Nude by Nature, which for some reason isn't available anymore. This was the best I could find - I think it's the same product but with a different name and design. If I wear a BB-cream or foundation, this primer HAS to go under it. Without it everything slides off my oily face within 2 hours. Such a lifesaver.

Now, there's something I have to tell you all. As I am such a procrastinator and as a result don't post blog posts as much as I really should, I decided that this month I'm going to challenge myself to 2 or 3 good quality posts per week. Mondays will be "Makeup Monday", Fridays will be "Fashion Friday", and I might post a lifestyle post another time during the week  if I feel like it. Hopefully you're excited (I definitely am!) and have a fabulous rest of the week :)

15th BIRTHDAY HAUL

Before we get on the post. just a little side note:
Recently, just after my birthday, I went on a holiday to Sydney and Adelaide (I live in Perth). It was on of the best holidays ever! I will be writing a post about it, but if you can't wait for that, head over to my instagram for a 'lil speak peak - I've been posting my travel photos on there. :)

Back to my birthday haul, I got quite a few lovely things from my friends and family. Thank you so much to everyone who got me something! Now I'm just going to stop rambling and you can get on with looking at all my new things.

So, to summarise, which things I got from my lovely friends and family included:

BACK TO SCHOOL // NATURAL MAKE-UP LOOK

Hi everyone!

As it's time to get in the mood for back to school (which isn't going very well for me at the moment... ahaha), I thought I would create a few posts on make-up, hairstyles and DIYs that will help you get ready for going back to school.

The make-up look that I have created for today is a very natural look, since at most schools (including mine) you are not allowed to wear much make-up - or none at all. All the products I used are from the chemist because those products are much more affordable (and most of the time they work just as well as high-end products do). Lets get started!

PREP // A daily moisturizer ensures that your skin is feeling fresh, clean and smooth, ready for the school day. Before you go to bed the night before, or even when you get up in the morning, apply the Cetaphil moisturisong lotion. {And see if you can spot my cheeky photographer! haha)

STEP ONE // Apply the Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream evenly all over your face - it has SPF15  to protect your skin (and mine) from the sun, especially as it's summer! Now, although I don't, you can use a concealer as well as a bb cream to cover dark circles and blemishes.

STEP TWO // To keep the BB cream {and concealer, if used} in place all day, use Rimmel's Stay Matte pressed powder.

STEP THREE // Use Maybelline's superstay 24 hour powder to give yourself a natural glow - it is summer, after all!

STEP FOUR // All I'm doing on my eyes is curilng my lashes, and then applying my Maybelline Great Lash mascara in waterproof. Waterproof mascaras are a great idea if your school requires you to do swimming lessons, or if you know you will sweat lots during the day!

STEP FIVE // Brush through your brows and slightly fill them in using Rimmel's professional brow pencil.

STEP SIX // A final touch - apply Nivea's pearly shine lip balm to give your lips a nice, subtle colour, while also healing them at the same time. We actually didn't get pictures of this - sorry!

And viola! My natural make-up look is complete! It only take 5 minutes and is super easy to do.

WOULD YOU RATHER // BEAUTY EDITION

Hey everyone!

I thought that because you guys don't know my very well and I haven't introduced my self properly I would do this tag that I found. Enjoy!

Q // Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up?
A // I think nice hair and no make-up, because I don't normally wear much make-up (well unless I'm going out somewhere spesh) and I sometimes have good hair days.

Q // Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
A // Overdone blush... and I would use a matte blush so it looks like I've exercised instead of looking like I've had an accident with glitter.

Q // Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
A // I would rather have a bad spray tan that makes me look orange because, really, who says that I have to leave the house?

Q // Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
A // With a bad haircut as I could wear a hat or style it up in braids, but a bad hair colour is impossible to hide. I'll go with the bad haircut.

Q //  Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
A //  Mascara is my life. So obviously I have to give up make-up brushes (I would actually just use a beauty blender sponge for foundation instead...loopholes!)

Q // Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, lipsticks and lip-glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye-shadows?
A // Even though I said already that I can't live without mascara... I only have one (well you only really need one at a time - saves money and space). But I have 100 palettes and eye shadows so no way in the world would I want to loose them. And well yeah I love my lippies but I gotta keep my eye shadows.

Q // Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
A // Let me tell you this now... I, will never, ever, ever chop off all my hair. Ever. I have to chose never cutting my hair again - and I would fix those pesky split ends with lots of hair masks and serums.

Q // Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
A // Not that I wear blush (I am naturally very pink-cheeked...unfortunately), but if I did, I would go with pink, not coral. I like to leave the coral trend to the lips.

Q // If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make-up?
A // CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES....
I think you get the picture...ahaha. In all seriousness, I already have enough make-up, but, no girl EVER has enough clothes.

Q // Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
A // Eyeliner as lipstick... because it would be like using lip-liner/pencil thing (same texture i mean). And you can get eyeliner in all sorts of colours. And seriously ewwwwwww gross imagine putting lipstick on your eyelid. Never.

Q // Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
A // One eyeshadow colour (golden-brown) because I NEED my red, coral, nude and pink lips.

Q // Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
A // What kind of question is this? ahaha. I think I would wear summer clothes all year round because it would be too hot in summer with winter clothes on.

Q // Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
A // I don't really wear dark nails or bright nails, just neutrals. But I'll go with bright nails as they are nice and cheery.

Q // Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
A // Well... I think lip product as I love my mascara way too much to give it up. I don't even think I have a favorite lip product (ooops).

Q // Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
A // My hair is quite curly so it's really hard to get it in or out of a bun but ponytails make my hair look really good so I'll choose ponytail.

Q // Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip-gloss?
A // I think never use lip-gloss because I quite like painting my nails and I have enough other lip products that work just as good - or even better - than lip gloss.

Q // Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
A // Take one moment to imagine how weird we would look without eyebrows. I can't even. I'd rather sharpie them in, and I would use a brown fine liner sharpie so it would replicate an eyebrow pen or eyebrow gel (oooo sneaky).

AND FINALLY...

Q // Would you rather live without makeup or without nail polish?
A // Definitely nail polish... make-up is amazing and I love it way to much. And nail polish always chips so easily (I'd get stick on nails instead haha).

Wow - that was a lot of questions! I hope you learnt more about me from this fun tag, and comment below if you enjoyed this style of post - I know I definitely did!

TTYL,

Bridget xx

P.S. I've just realised after reading and editing this post that instead of properly answering most of the questions I have just found a way around them... oopps. haha
